Shifting vs non-shifting Hajj packages

The difference comes down to whether you change hotels during the busiest days of Hajj. In a shifting package, you move out of your Makkah hotel during the Mina and Arafat days, so your room isn't held for you — it's cheaper, but less convenient. In a non-shifting package, you keep the same hotel throughout, with access to your room and luggage the whole time. Non-shifting costs more, but it's the more comfortable choice, especially for families, older pilgrims and anyone travelling with reduced mobility. Every package above is non-shifting.

Your hotels in Makkah and Madinah

Our 5-star packages place you within a short walk of the Haram, typically around ten minutes. Depending on availability, accommodation is arranged in well-known hotels such as the Pullman Zamzam Grand Suites in Makkah, and the Dar Al Hijra InterContinental or Millennium Al Aqeeq in Madinah, alongside options including the Crowne Plaza and Anjum Hotel. Ground-floor rooms, wheelchair access and special meal requirements can be arranged for pilgrims who need them — just let us know when you book.

How to book Hajj 2027 from the UK

UK pilgrims register through Nusuk, the official Saudi government platform, which handles visa approval and package allocation. Because the process and quotas can be difficult to navigate alone, most pilgrims book through an approved agency that manages it on their behalf. Islamic Travel is approved by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and we handle your Nusuk registration, documents and visa from start to finish. To reserve a place, contact our team, and we'll talk you through the package that best fits your budget and needs.

When is Hajj 2027?

Hajj 2027 is expected to fall in May 2027. Exact dates are confirmed only after the moon sighting in Saudi Arabia, so any dates published before then are estimates. Because the closest hotels to the Haram and the limited UK quota fill up months ahead, we recommend registering early rather than waiting for the final dates.

A quick guide to performing Hajj

Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam and an obligation, once in a lifetime, for every Muslim able to undertake it. There are three forms — Tamattu, Qiran and Ifrad — of which Tamattu (performing Umrah and then Hajj in the same season) is the most common for pilgrims travelling from the UK. The main rites include entering the state of Ihram, Tawaf around the Kaaba, Sa'ee between Safa and Marwah, standing at Arafat, the nights at Muzdalifah and Mina, the stoning of the pillars, the sacrifice, and the farewell Tawaf. Our guides and daily lectures walk you through each step before and during the journey, so you can focus on your worship.

Many pilgrims make the journey to Makkah before Hajj as well. If you're planning ahead, see our Umrah packages, available throughout the year.

Frequently asked questions

Why is Hajj so expensive?

Several costs stack up: limited pilgrim quotas against very high global demand, flight prices that rise with inflation, government visa and service fees, Mina tent costs, transport inside Saudi Arabia, and exchange rates. Together, these set the base price before any hotel or duration choices.

How do I book Hajj 2027 from the UK?

Registration runs through Nusuk, the official Saudi platform, which processes your documents and visa. You can also book through an approved agency like Islamic Travel, which handles the Nusuk process, documents and visa on your behalf — useful given the limited quota and the steps involved.

Are your Hajj packages ATOL protected?

Yes. Islamic Travel is ATOL registered (ATOL 12192), so your air-inclusive package is financially protected. If flights are cancelled, you're covered for a refund of the air-inclusive portion. Always check that you receive an ATOL certificate at booking.

What does a Hajj 2027 package cost?

Our packages start from £6,495 per person and rise to £9,095 for 5-star non-shifting, based on quad sharing. The final price depends on hotel category, how close you stay to the Haram, room sharing, and the length of your trip.

What are the age and health requirements?

Under current Saudi regulations, pilgrims must be at least 12 years old, and the previous upper age limit has been removed. A meningococcal (ACWY) vaccination is mandatory, taken at least ten days before departure, and you'll need the certificate for your visa application. A medical fitness certificate is also required.

Can I perform Hajj on a Saudi tourist visa?

No. A specific Hajj visa is required to perform the rites of Hajj; a tourist visa does not permit it.

Can a woman perform Hajj 2027 without a Mahram?

Yes. Current Hajj guidelines allow women to travel for Hajj without a Mahram, booking a package and travelling with the group.
